Visiting Scholars typically visit the Institute for 2-3 weeks during which time they present a public seminar on their current research and participate in collaborative activities with faculty and graduate students. This may involve consulting with one or more of the Institute's research working groups, engaging in a research workshop, and/or preparing proposals together with Institute affiliates for new lines of research. Visiting Scholars hold regular "office hours," and often guest lecture in one or more Development Sociology classes.
Polson Institute research typically explores and develops research projects that do not replicate individual or concentration-driven research within the Department.
Send recommendations for visiting scholars to Doug Gurak at dtg2@cornell.edu.
