My current research focuses on the changing nature of immigration to the United States and other industrialized societies. Of particular interest are the diversity of types of immigrants in terms of modes of entry and human capital resources and the evolving shift in settlement patterns away from the dominant gateway regions of the past several decades. I have also been examining the nature of immigrant social mobility.
