Research

Professor Geisler works chiefly on topics within environmental and natural resource sociology, with emphasis on land tenure, ownership and control, social equity issues in conservation and protected area policies, innovative forms of land reform in the US and abroad, and property theory. His recent research emphasizes public land policy which displaces and impoverishes some people while benefiting others.
